The first issue of AI -- a printed newsletter -- came out in March 1998. Roll forward to 2022, and NZAE has updated the style and delivery mechanism of AI. But its purpose remains the same:

A newsletter to promote the exchange of information, news and ideas among members of the New Zealand Association of Economists (Inc).
